 Each toner cartridge requires one to two liters of oil, and creates 4.8 kg of CO2 in its production. This represents, in the UK alone, an annual consumption of 200,000,000 liters of oil, and the creation of 480,000 metric tons of CO2. This is equivalent to the CO2 emission of a medium size car driving four billion kilometers.
A desktop PC can produce around 240 grams of CO2 per hour. That means If you leave your PC on 24 hours a day,
that equals 2 tons of CO2 emissions per year for just one desktop PC. Imagine if there were 500 of them in your office.
